Great Expectations
There use to be this Salon called
"Great Expectations" Many have stepped their feet upon the portals of this Salon, with little to nothing in which to work. The one thing they shared in common , was they had GREAT EXPECTIONS. They wanted to be transformed into something greater than when they started. I can identify with such expectations, for I too was one of those patrons
When you enter into the house of the Lord, do you go with great expectations? Is He the center of your worship? Is He the reason that you go? Or does position, title and even location occupy your purpose? Perhaps it's the speaker or musician of the hour that leads you into the house of the Lord. Many say that the reason you go to church is not as important as being there. I beg to differ. We are compelled to go with a spirit of Godly worship and GREAT EXPECTATIONS.
If you are sick with physical ailments and you enter in the house of Lord, you should have GREAT EXPECTATIONS that HE CAN and already HAS healed; If your finances are low and your debts are high, you should go with GREAT EXPECTATIONS that God can deliver us from such a dismal situation and TEACH us new ways to manage; If you enter into the house of the Lord, questioning your value, your purpose and your worth, you should go with GREAT EXPECTATIONS that He will affirm you in His word and by those whom He sends to reassure you in HIM; If you enter into the house of the Lord, weighed down with the cares of the multi-directions that your child(ren) are taking, that does not lead to God; then you should enter into the house of the Lord with GREAT EXPECTATIONS that He has already done that which He said He would do, restore unto you tenfold, that which was taken; If you enter into the house of the Lord without hope, you should go with GREAT EXPECTATIONS that He is the Alpha and Omega of hope.
The question is raised in John 5:6 "…Do you want to be made whole (restored)?" Many times we enter into the house of the LORD cumbered with the cares of life, but knowing that the GREAT I AM, has already done that which HE has promised to do; we must position ourselves closer to the pool of healing in Bethesda, that when the waters are troubled, you shall receive that which you expect. If you expect nothing, then nothing shall yield that which you expect. If you have GREAT EXPECTATIONS, then GREAT EXPECTATIONS shall yield that which you expect.
MY GOD IS ABLE and will supply all of your needs according to HIS riches in glory. Know that double-mindedness leads to instability and He has not given you the spirit of fear. Walk in hope; walk in purpose with GREAT EXPECTANCY. He is ready to deliver you from the tumultuous labour you have been going through. The question remains, do you want to be freed from the familiar, lounge chair comforts that weigh you down? Your response will dictate the results! Rise, stand tall and abandon, renounce, leave behind, that which He has delivered you from. Even after stagnant, contracted habits have limited you for some time, He will mobilize you to move in a new way, with new hope and conviction.
